Study on the oil flowing fire combustion and extinguishment technology

The combustion experiments of automobile gasoline at different burning areas and leaking rates were investigated to determine the pre-burning time of oil flowing fire.The comparative experiments of the extinguishing characteristics for oil flowing fire were also implemented using different types of extinguishing devices.The experiment results demonstrated that as the gasoline leak rate increasing,the rate of flame propagation increased.In addition,it was found that the flame shape and temperature were different between the oil flowing fire in flume with boundaries and that on ground without boundaries,the temperature of oil flowing fire on ground was higher than that in flume.The oil flowing fire could be quickly cut off and extinguished using the positive pressure foam fire extinguishing apparatus with appropriate foam intensity.
