An Environmental Adaptive PV System Control Strategy for Regional PV Consumption

2019
In order to solve the problem of excess power consuming of the regional PV system, a novel environmental adaptive PV system control strategy is proposed in this paper. The PV array uses a distributed connection structure with distributed pre-optimizers. Based on the construction structure and a proposed environmental adaptive algorithm, the global maximum power point tracking of the PV array under different environment conditions can be realized. By utilizing a group management based PV control strategy, the PV arrays in the PV system can be divided into several groups according to different light intensity, and the output power of the PV system can be control and managed by group. The theoretical and simulation analysis proves that the control strategy proposed in this paper can not only realize the GMPPT of the PV array with or without shading, but also can manage the regional PV system in groups according to the light intensity. By implementing the proposed strategy, the output power of the PV system can quickly follow the power demand of the distribution network, and achieve the flexible consuming of regional excess power output of the PV system.
