Ethnobotanical Survey of Daksum Forest Range of Anantnag District, Jammu and Kashmir, India

ABSTRACTAn ethnobotanical study was conducted in the Daksum Forest of Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir State of India to document the traditional knowledge of its population, using semi-structured interviews and group conversation with 52 informants. One hundred and eight plant species, with a predominance of Asteraceae and Rosaceae, along with their detailed uses were documented. About 51 of the species were being used to treat various diseases, 65 as fruits and vegetables, and 21 for religious and other rituals.
