Dealing with the figure of Christ implies asking God questions. This approach can bring together both theologians and literary critics around the same object; novelistic creation, free by its nature, if one refers to genre theory, cannot however move away from the foundations of the Christian message without incurring the risk of not being taken seriously. Through the analysis of four contemporary novels - in which Jesus either speaks, or reveals himself in other peoples' contemplation of him or triggers fundamental questioning about his resurrection - emerges the image of the One who always reveals himself in an indirect way in the questioning of people of good will.
