Genetic Characterization of Chestnut

Chestnut is an edible fruit of deciduous trees of the genus Castanea, belonging to the family of Fagaceae. The genus Castanea includes 13 species. They all are natives of the temperate zone in Asia, Europe and North America, where they cover more than 200 million acres.
