Influence of manure, zeolite and rock phosphate on soil chemical properties and soybean yield in Alfisols

2020
Alfisols have a problem in soil chemical properties one of them is low P availability. The majority of P element in Alfisols is bound by Al and Fe element. To achieve high-quality soybean production and soil productivity without degrading the soil properties right management practice is required. The objective of this study was to elucidate the effects of manure, rock phosphate and zeolite application on soil chemical properties (pH, Organic Carbon, Available P, N total, and C/N ratio) and soybean yield in Alfisols. Factorial randomized complete block designed were used and field experiment was conducted in this research, manure, zeolite, and rock phosphate was filtered with 60 mesh size to increase its effectiveness. Obtained results showed that soil chemical properties of pH and available P significantly influenced by the application of RP. Meanwhile, organic matter, N total and C/N ratio had significantly increased with a combination of manure, rock phosphate and zeolite. Reducing the particle size of manure, rock phosphate and zeolite was found to help enhance nutrient distribution and soybean yield. Meanwhile, soybean yield represented by P uptake, numbers of soybean pod content and soybean yield (ton.ha−1) had increased up to 75.9 % with the influence of 5 ton.ha−1 manure and 2.5 ton.ha−1 rock phosphate.
