Magnetic material and production method therefor

Provided are a magnetic material exhibiting ferromagnetism, represented by the chemical formula Fe(Al 1-x Mn x ) 2 O 4 (0 < x < 1), and a production method for the magnetic material, comprising: a step in which a starting material oxide powder containing a nitrate salt of Fe, a nitrate salt of Al and tetravalent Mn is dissolved in distilled water to prepare an aqueous mixed solution; a step in which citric acid and an ethylene glycol are mixed into the aqueous mixed solution to prepare metal-citric acid complexes; a step in which the metal-citric acid complexes are boiled until a gel is formed and are then dried to obtain a precursor; and a calcining step in which the precursor is heat treated to obtain a magnetic material powder.
