Determination of the interlayer exchange interaction in 2-d antiferromagnet BaMnF4

Abstract We have observed magnetodipole subthreashold two-magnon absorption of the sum and difference types in quasi-two-dimensional biaxial antiferromagnet BaMnF 4 in the very high frequency range. The band shape of the sum-type absorption was used to estimate the weak interlayer exchange interaction in the crystal.
