Low energy electron attachment to N-acetylglycine
2012
Abstract Dissociative electron attachment (DEA) to N -acetylglycine has been studied in the gas phase by means of a crossed beams apparatus. In this Letter we present the results obtained from the target molecule and compare these with the results from its components namely glycine and acetic acid. We find that the number of DEA products is significantly decreased in N -acetylglycine and that the resonance features are notably shifted to lower energies when compared to the individual components. The red shift of the resonances is most likely due to the lower energy of the MOs involved in DEA.
