Combined efficiency production factors: Data Envelopment Analysis application in milk production

The efficiency evaluation of the usage of inputs in the product’s production is one of the most important subjects in any business management, because is even more important the combat to waste in a context of scarce resources and high competitiveness. In the agribusiness this could not be different. The companies need even more to worry about how efficient are their processes in the transformation of inputs in outputs. In this way, this work searches to contribute presenting and discussing an analysis and evaluation methodology of organizational performance, through the use of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) based on informations of multiples inputs and outputs of 20 milk producers from the Southwest region throughout four months. It is perceived that the proposed methodology has multicriterial characteristics which make it more able of modelling the complexity of productive processes. Besides, it can provide a tool rack of management support based on benchmarking which allows to the producers the possibility of searching the continuous improvement of their transformation processes.
