The fermion dynamical symmetry model of nuclear collective motion

A microscopic fermion model of nuclear collective motion is discussed. The model has a SU3 rotational limit, a SO6 γ‐soft limit and three vibrational limits (SU2, SO7 and SO5×SU2), with fully microscopic connections between these dynamical symmetries and the underlying shell structure. It is shown that under certain approximations both the phenomenological Interacting Boson Model (IBM) and the Geometrical Model (GM) can be recovered from this model.
