Sheet brake in the delivery of a printing machine

1996
The description relates to a highly developed page brake (5) to improve sheet delivery on a stack (4) of a fly of a rotary press. Said brake (5) is fitted with a crank drive which, via its machine-synchronous action, generates an oscillating lifting movement in time with printed pages (1) conveyed past it, which are drawn by a depression against the rear of a suction strip (20) on the page brake (5) and on a suction chamber, braked and lowered to the surface of the fly stack (3). There is advantageously a groove (21) acting together with a fly grip (23) which keeps the printed page (1) transversely rigid. There is a telescopic articulated shaft to achieve synchronism in the drive and lifting movement.
