Implementation of Noise Reduction Techniques for Real Time Applications

This paper discusses implementation of two noise reduction techniques. In first method it is achieved by limiting bandwidth using active filters and in the second method by signal averaging. Single section and two section active filter using twin-T RC network in the feedback path are designed, assembled and tested. Two section active filter improved the signal-to-noise ratio by a factor of 32. A scheme for digital signal averaging using microprocessor is proposed alongwith the hardware details. An algorithm suitable for the above scheme is discussed using 16 bit microprocessor for real time applications.
