Effect of Shoot Scattering on a Grape-Yield Radar

2018
Detection of grape bunches on a grape vine requires understanding of the radar scattering environment. Early work has shown scattering from leaves is minimal at Sband (2 – 4 GHz). On the other hand, theoretical, simulated and experimental data show that the reflection from shoots is significantly higher than that from grape bunches. A method to discriminate between shoots and grape bunches is proposed.
