STUDY ON THE ABILITY AND WILLINGNESS OF PRIVATE PHARMACIES RELATIVE TO COLLABORATE IN DETECTION OF TB CASE

[Objective]To explore the ability and willingness of private pharmacies owners(managers)and staff relative to collaborate in TB control activities,thus to provide new ideas to develop the more practical and effective TB case detection mode.[Methods]Qualitative methods were used to interview the bosses,managers or employees of 15 pharmacies were interviewed with the in-depth interviews.[Results]Private pharmacies could get in touch with many suspicious tuberculosis patients,among whom migrants were majority. Most pharmacy staff had a fair knowledge on TB symptoms and was willing to collaborate in TB case detection.[Conclusion]Most pharmacy staff have willingness and potential to collaborate in TB case detection,further study should be carried out to assess the feasibility and mechanism.
