Nonlinear Control With Space Vector Modulation for a Matrix Converter-fed Induction Machine

2020
Matrix converters have been considered recently for several industrial and commercial applications, due to their lower size and weight and no dc-link requirement compared to the traditional back-to-back topology. As a consequence, several control techniques have been proposed for motor drives fed by matrix converters. The aim of this paper is to present a robust nonlinear control algorithm with a detailed description of the modulation stage for the current control of a three-phase induction machine. Simulation results explore the robustness of a sliding-mode based controller under perturbances and parameter mismatch.
