Management Strategy for Hyperactive Behavior for Children with Special Needs Viewed from the Perspective of Teacher and Parents

The purpose of this study was to analyze management strategies for hyperactive behavior of children with special needs viewed from the perspective of teachers and parents. This research is a case study using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The samples used in this study were school principals, subject teachers, parents, and stakeholders of SLBN Karanganyar and Sukoharjo Central Java Province, Indonesia as many as 200 respondents. Data analysis techniques used data collection, data presentation, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the management strategies for hyperactive behavior of children with special needs are viewed from the perspective of teachers and parents. Based on the results of this study, it can be assumed that in reducing hyperactive behavior in children with special needs, the role of teachers and parents is needed as motivators, companions, learning designers, learning artists/actors, mediators, and motivators and innovators in terms of parenting teachers and parents. However, it is necessary to carry out further research involving social, psychosocial environmental variables, implementing modified high intensity interval training (HIIT), modified motor skills training, and those related to problems in reducing hyperactive behavior in children with special needs.
