Time Constrained Emergency Data Backup and Service Migration in Cloud Data Centers

Data storage and service delivery are mainly realized by cloud data centers deployed around the world. However, data centers are facing failure threats caused by disasters such as earthquake. Thus disaster-resilient cloud data centers are expected. We assume that a disaster will affect two cloud data centers with early warning time in which one needs to back up data and another needs to migrate services. An emergency protection scheme integrating data backup and service migration is proposed by utilizing early warning time. We design a solution for the scheme based on Integer Linear Program (ILP), and the numerical resluts are also offered to validate the emergency protection scheme.
