Clinical Observation of Massage and Herbal Fumigation-washing therapy Plus Function Exercise for Treatment of Lateral Patellar Compression Syndrome

Objective To observe the clinical effect of massage and herbal fumigation-washing therapy plus function exercise for the treatment of lateral patellar compression syndrome.Methods A total of 27 cases of lateral patellar compression syndrome were treated with massage and herbal fumigation-washing therapy combined with function exercise.The results were evaluated according to the modified Lysholm scale rating system before treatment,and 10,20,30 days after the treatment.Results The Lysholm scores were increased gradually with the prolongation of treatment period(P0.01 compared with those before treatment).The excellent rate was 51.9% 10 days after treatment,63.0% 20 days after treatment,and 74.1% 30 days after treatment,the difference being significant at different time points(P0.05).Conclusion Massage and herbal fumigation-washing therapy plus function exercise therapy show certain effect for the treatment of lateral patellar compression syndrome.
