Radioactive nuclides diffusion description based on virtual environment

2010
A study on the diffusion and visualization of radioactive nuclides, which is helpful for decision making to some correlative departments, is presented. Based on an existing Lagrangian mesoscale atmospheric dispersion puff model RIMPUFF, our model integrates the characteristics of nuclear dispersion, and improves the model into a new one which includes wind field, dry deposition and the decay of the radioactive nuclides. The method of dealing with high mountains in another model AERMOD is introduced into our model. By doing this, our model can treat with complex terrains and complicated environments well. In the visualization of radioactive nuclides diffusion, a new method is proposed. This method only subdivides the boundary grids, and it can greatly shorten the period in calculating the concentration of every receptor point.
