Entre la pesca y el turismo: cambios económicos y demográficos recientes en la costa mexicana

Mexican Coastal zones are passing through important chances. The most important is the economic and demographic transition. Fishing activities have lost importance; meanwhile oil extraction and tourism have gained relevance. Also, a demographic analysis evidences the disparity in terms of spatial distribution of people and welfare. This paper describes some of those changes and points out the necessity of more studies to comprehend the coastal transition in Mexico.
