[(1-Carboxy­cyclo­hexyl)(carboxy­meth­yl)­ammonio]acetate

The title compound, C11H17NO6, was prepared by the reaction of 1-amino­cyclo­hexa­necarboxylic acid with monochloro­acetic acid. In the mol­ecule one of three carb­oxy groups is deprotonated while the N atom is protonated, thus the mol­ecule exists as an inner salt in the crystal structure. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonding; an intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond is also present.
