Statistique Empirique Bayesienne. Estimation Optimale et Parcimonie
2009
The signal denoising is considered in the framework of the empirical Bayesian statistics, taking into account a Gaussian noise. The posterior expectation leads to the Miyasawa optimal estimate. The measurement y is corrected with a term proportional to the logarithmic derivative of the posterior probability density function q(y). The variance of the estimate is then deduced. The noise variance is reduced by a factor R which can be obtained only from q(y). The R estimation has to take into account the limited number of measurements. Different methods are proposed. In the case of a white noise, any unitary transform U keeps this property. The best signal denoising can be derived from the RU maximization.
