An electrodepositable coating composition comprising: (a) a cationic resin containing active hydrogen; and (b) an additive having the following structure: wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 include - (C (RI) HCH2O) m-RII; wherein m can be 0, 1, 2 or 3, RI may be H or C1 to C6, and RII may be C4 to C18 or CH2-CH2-Y-RIII wherein Y comprises O, S, or -C ( O) NHRIV wherein RIV may be H or C1 to C18; wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 comprises H and R1, C4 as RII and m> = 2; and wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 comprises H and RI, RII C4 and m> = 0.
