The present invention provides an image processing method and system for a laser television, and the laser television. The method comprises: receiving television signals and converting the television signals into ultra-high-definition image sequence frames; splitting and converting each image in each ultra-high-definition image sequence frame into two images, so as to obtain two image sequence frames; and in a human eye vision persistence time, according to the arrangement sequence of the ultra-high-definition image sequence frames and by using two DMD drive chips, driving the two image sequence frames to be displayed on a time division basis and in a diagonally interlaced manner. In the present invention, a vision persistence principle is used; two images obtained after ultra-high-definition image split and conversion can be processed at the same time by the existing two DMD drive chips capable of processing an FHD image, the two images are displayed at different positions of a screen on a time division basis, and an ultra-high-definition image is formed in human eyes. The method of the present invention is simple; ultra-high-definition display is implemented by using the existing FHD device; and the present invention has low cost and can be widely used.
