The Rapid City DC Tie

Capacitor commutated converter (CCC) technology has been selected for several recent projects due to its suitability for application in relatively weak network locations. The modular design of CCC converters permits shorter project execution time. This paper describes the CCC technology used for the rapid city HVDC back-to-back tie
