LA EXPERIENCIA DE 10 AÑOS DE DOCENCIA DE LA ASIGNATURA FUENTES DE INFORMACIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA DE MEDICAMENTOS IMPARTIDA CON EL MÉTODO DE ENSEÑANZA BASADO EN LA RESOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

We present here the setting up of the subject Resources for Pharmacological Information on Drugs to fill an unmet educative demand from Communitarian Pharmacists in Galicia. This subject was implemented as an elective subject in the 5 th year of the Degree in Pharmacy at the University of Santiago de Compostela in the academic year 1997/98. The methodology of teaching is based on problem solving approaches aimed to the development of personal and professional skills for live-long learning. After 10 years of experience, we can conclude from the positive attitude of the students and teachers towards the subject that this was a successful initiative. We observe a high level of achievement among the students and a progressive development of their attitude and skills for professional competence during the academic course. The new academic program for the Degree of Pharmacy following the recommendations of the European Higher Education Space that is under development at the moment plans to include Resources for Pharmacological Information on Drugs among the elective subjects to be offered.
