Energy Efficient Cluster Head Selection with Adaptive Threshold in WSN

2018
Wireless sensor network comprises of an extensive number of nodes deployed randomly which can detect the environment information, convert it into an appropriate form, and then transmit it to the Base Station. Energy consumption is the most important issue in WSNs, which mainly depends upon the energy efficient clustering and data communication phase. We have studied various clustering algorithm that balances the number of clusters. In LEACH, the cluster head selection was random, and didn't include energy aware parameters. In this paper, we are proposing Energy efficient Cluster Head selection based on Adaptive Threshold (ECHAT). We will show that our technique is useful for reducing the energy consumption and enhancing the lifetime of WSN under different conditions.
