Применение метода 3D моделирования при осмотре места совершения кражи

2016
Investigative experiment is carried out in order to establish the circumstances, check the existing information and obtain the new one. It requires a considerable investment of time and labor. Carrying out the real investigative experiment is greatly simplified by the use of computer programs allowing to recreate the environment of the crime scene by three-dimensional modeling and animation. The experience of using the program designed to create interactive three-dimensional models (3D-modeling) during crime scene examination in cases of theft is analyzed. With the help of this program the negative circumstances (imitation of breaking a window), arising in such cases, were reconstructed. After preparing the graphic part of the scene, its physical properties and all other interactive properties, the rendering process (calculation process) was started. Three scenes with different mathematical data were considered during the experiment: brick’s flying speed, the angle at which the brick interacts with the glass, etc. Experimental modeling involving the use of commercial software product Autodesk 3ds Studio max 2014 was conducted. It showed that the accuracy of the result depends on the entered parameters and properties of the objects. It’s summarized that using 3D modeling makes possible to reconstruct or simulate the crime scene for the purpose of establishing the negative circumstances that may indicate staging a crime. Proper use of software would greatly facilitate the process of crime scene search in both real and virtual perception. Skillful discovery, use and evaluation of negative circumstances of versions contribute to comprehensive and objective investigation and detection of crimes.
