Breeding of photo-sensitive hybrid rice Taifengyougui 99 and its high yield cultivation techniques.

Taifengyougui 99 is a new photo-sensitive three-line hybrid rice variety bred by Xiangzhou Huangshi Rice Research Institute,Xiangzhou,Guangxi,using Taifeng 18A and Gui 99 as parents,and it was registered by Guangxi Committee for Crop Variety Registration in May,2009.Taifengyougui 99 showed moderate growth period,compact plant type,multi-spike and slim grain,high and stable yield,good grain quality and strong resistance characteristics.The average yield of production test was found to be 7672.5 kg/ha which was 1.95% higher than the control.Its high cultivation techniques include suitable sowing date,culturing optimum aged seedlings,timely transplantation of seedlings,reasonable planting density,scientific application of basic fertilizer,early application of top fertilizer,proper irrigation management,timely bound diseases and insect pests control measures.
