EVALUACIÓN Y CARACTERIZACIÓN DE LA HERRUMBRE DE ACEROS AUTOPROTECTORES (PATINABLES) OBTENIDA EN DIFERENTES ENSAYOS ACELERADOS DE CORROSIÓN Evaluation and charaterization of weathering steel corrosion products obtained in different accelerated corrosion tests

The rust layesr formed on weathering steels surface has been object of numerous studies thanks to its excellent protective properties, allowing to the accurate use of weathering steel by long periods of time and therefore, their low maintenance cost. In the present work, the two weathering steels behaviour have been evaluated in the corrosion first stages in different atmospheres: urbanmoderade, urban and marine-industrial, simulated in the laboratory. A morphologic and structural characterization of the rusts have been carried out by microscopic (SEM), spectroscopic techniques (FTIR, XRD) and the use of electrochemical techniques (OCP, SKP and EIS) to evaluate the rust protective properties.
