This article presents a summary of activities conducted by the Johns Hopkins University Population Communication Services and Population Information Program concerning male involvement in reproductive health. In many countries a high rate of men approve of family planning although use of contraceptives is low. In Bangladesh open discussions were rendered to overcome fears and encourage men to learn more about family planning. Muslims and Christian religious leaders in Egypt were trained in family planning and community mobilization skills. In Ghana Brazil Bolivia Peru and Zimbabwe campaigns were conducted regarding these matters. In Kenya a 3-year project was established to increase awareness approval and adoption of vasectomy as a method of contraception. Due to lack of research it was hard to identify the depth of the male audience.
