Flash Memory based Computing-In-Memory to Solve Time-dependent Partial Differential Equations

2020
To construct a time-dependent partial differential equation (PDE) solver to improve the computation efficiency with ultra-high accuracy, a flash memory based computing-in-memory (CIM) hardware system is proposed in this work. On the basis of spice simulations on 65nm NOR flash memory technology together with a precision-extension technique, 64-bit precision accuracy can be achieved successfully. This is important to design PDE solvers with high efficiency and precision that required in scientific research and engineering.
