Apparatus for collecting, washing and refusing outflow blood

1996
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum driven outflow blood treating system of an integral type which collects, dilutes, filters and washes the outflow blood after an operation and thickens the red cells for the purpose of refusion to a patient. SOLUTION: A bowl 25 for centrifugal sepn. is arranged between the field of operation and a vacuum source 34 used for removal from the field of operation and permits the instantaneous taking of the outflow blood into a bowl without an intermediate reservoir or additive pump. This constitution, coupled with the bowl for centrifugal sepn. of a correction type having a sealing opening to permit the direct refusion from the bowl without an additive refusion bag or forward and backward revolving pump in its bottom, treats the blood for the purpose of refusion by using fewer steps and members without impairment of its functionality. The dilution of the blood at the time of introduction into the system degrades the coagulation property and allows the use of a slower bowl rotating speed. The slow rotation lessens the damage of the red cells, the thereby contributing a decrease in electric power demand and an improvement in portability. COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
