Charge asymmetry in (d, t) and (d, 3He) reactions and optimum Q-value conditions
1977
Abstract Final states populated in A = 27 and A = 31 have been observed by the 28 Si(d,t), 28 Si(d, 3 He) and 32 S(d, t), 32 S(d, 3 He) reactions. Analog states have been analyzed in order to ascertain the limits of the standard DWBA reaction theory when applied to the charge symmetric reactions. The results of the analysis show that analog spectroscopic factors are found to agree within 5–10 %. A detailed accounting of the DWBA calculations is presented in order to pinpoint the differences between the (d, t) and (d, 3 He) calculations. Also the Q -value dependence of the cross sections is discussed.
