Dermatomyositis is defined by characteristic skin features and proximal muscle weakness. Skin manifestations are crucial for diagnosing dermatomyositis.1,2 Common cutaneous manifestations include heliotrope rash edema, poikiloderma and erythema which is frequently observed in the malar area.3-5 We described two novel facial skin signs in a case series of Hispanic patients with dermatomyositis.
