Temperature Rise in Underground Impressed Current Anodes

1980
Abstract An analysis of current and power relations in underground impressed current cathodic protection systems supports the conclusion that anode failure may result from high operating temperatures. Formulae are derived for estimating anode temperature in soils of varying electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity.
