The invention relates to an air conditioner having a refrigerant circuit (2), in which at least one compressor (3) and at least one heat exchanger (1) are arranged and in which a refrigerant flows, and a refrigerant medium circuit (11), in which at least a pump (12), at least one heat exchanger (1) and at least one cold accumulator (13) are arranged and in which a cold carrier medium flows, wherein a heat exchanger (1) is provided, in which a heat exchange between the refrigerant medium and the refrigerant takes place, and a method for operating such an air conditioner.
