Provided are a screen mask and a seal printing method, by which damage to a surface of a print target base plate can be suppressed and a preferable print performance can be obtained. A screen mask (10) comprises a mesh-like screen gauze (11), and a emulsion layer (12) which is formed to cover the lower surface of the screen gauze (11) and has a predetermined opening (12a), wherein a projection layer (12b) having a larger thickness than the proximity of the opening (12a) is formed on the lower side of the emulsion layer (12) so as to provide notched step portions (12c, 12c) at the lower end of the opening (12a). The screen mask (10) is arranged to be opposed to the upper surface of a print target base plate (50), and is moved while being pressed by a squeegee (23) so that the lower surface of the projection layer (12b) is brought into close contact with the upper surface of the print target base plate (50), and thereby, a sealing agent (15) on the screen mask (10) is provided by printing on the print target base plate (50) through the opening (12a) to form a seal (61) on the print target base plate (50).
