Indigenous Peoples and International Investment Law: Alternatives for Greater Participation (Pueblos indígenas y derecho internacional de las inversiones: alternativas para una mayor participación)

English abstract: The purpose of this chapter is to show the new scenarios that indigenous peoples have to face in order to protect and defend their interests and the environment. Specifically, we intend to show how they have to face a complex regulatory system that has national and international effects and which, in any case, is intentionally exclusionary and discriminatory in order to shield the economic interests of foreign investors. Spanish abstract: Este capitulo tiene por objeto evidenciar cuales son esos nuevos escenarios que los pueblos indigenas tienen que afrontar para proteger y defender sus intereses y al medio ambiente. En concreto, pretendemos mostrar como tienen que enfrentarse a un complejo sistema normativo que tiene efectos nacionales e internacionales y el cual, en todo caso, es intencionalmente excluyente y discriminatorio para blindar intereses economicos de los inversionistas extranjeros.
