Methacrylic copolymer and molded article

[Problem] To provide a methacrylic copolymer that has high heat resistance and low water absorbency, and that does not readily undergo thermal decomposition. [Solution] A methacrylic copolymer including 5-22% by mass of structural units derived from a monomer represented by formula (1) and 78-95% by mass of structural units derived from a methacrylic acid ester other than the units represented by formula (1), the saturation water absorption of the methacrylic copolymer being 1.6% by mass or less. (In formula (1), R 1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R 2 represents a C1-4 alkyl group, and n represents an integer of 1-3.)
