FIRST WALL COMPONENTS FOR THE TCV TOKAMAK

Despite its medium size, the TCV tokamak will be capable of plasmas above 1MA with high power heating planned for a future phase. In addition, the variety of novel diverted plasma equilibria and the constraints resulting from stability requirements mean that the first wall components are an important factor in the overall machine program. This paper describes the design and disposition of these components. Some discussion of in-vessel diagnostics will also be included.
