Betta fish (Betta splendens) is a member of the Anabantidae family, and it is found among the 20th more sold ornate species around the world. When males reach sexual maturity, produce through their split a nest made of bubbles which composition and biological function remain unknown. The objective of this work is to identify some of the components that build up the bubbles and relate them with molecules previously identified in other species to find their possible functions.
