Pulse Current Effect on the Stress-Strain State in a Cracked Steel Strip

2018
Finite element method-based estimation results for the current pulse effect on the stress-strain state in the vicinity of the edge crack tip in a steel strip are presented. High-density reverse current along crack edges is shown to result in local stress-strain state variations near its tip, giving rise to residual plastic strains combined with thermal current-induced ones.
