Changes in the structure of composites based on polyolefins induced by radiation-thermal exposures☆

Abstract The DSC method has been used to investigate changes in the molecular mobility and stability of LDPE crystallites, ethylene copolymers and composites based on them in conditions of irradiation by fast electrons and prolonged heat ageing of the radiation-crosslinked materials. The stability of the composites depends on their composition, in particular, on the nature of the filler. A link was found between the characteristics of the relaxational and phase transitions and the strain properties of the composites above the glass transition point.
