Carbon segregation to a Ni(100) surface in the presence of adsorbed sulfur

1984
Abstract The effect of adsorbed sulfur on the enthalpies of formation and segregation of carbon adsorbed on Ni(100) has been determined using Auger electron spectroscopy and low-energy electron diffraction. Sulfur coverages in excess of 0.25 monolayer were found to suppress, completely, carbon segregation.
