As footballers suffer fromchronic injuries undernormalplayingconditions, professional football clubs havearequirement toimplement health surveillance programmestoprotect their players. A healthsurveillance programme, basedonbenchmarking aplayer'sfitness andaddressing theissues of pre-recruitment, pre-season, duringseason,post-season, and rehabilitation assessment, isproposed.
