Performances of advanced infrared pyroelectric detectors

This paper shows the advantages of thermal imaging using ferroelectric materials like ceramics and polymers. Their pyroelectric and dielectric properties lead to built uncooled infra-red detectors with high thermal resolution (NETD<0.2 K). The pyroelectric charges due to the absorption of the thermal IR image are readout by an electron beam in a pyricon tube or by a charge transfert circuit in an IR-CCD device
