Aluminiumschäume : Eigenschaften und Einsetzbarkeit. Diskussion

Aluminium foams are a group of materials with almost isotropic properties. Due to their specific properties their facilities for application range from traffic engineering to mechanical and plant engineering. As examples for feasible applications, stiffening and energy absorbing sheet-foam compound structures for automotive structures are described. For the production of theses compound structures, the selection of feasible joining technologies, which match the requirements of the cellular structure, is essential. Compound structures were tested in different loading cases, whereby the influence of the joining technology on the properties of the compound structure was observed. Generally, joining technologies which form an area like contact are favourable.
