The invention relates to a suction hose, in particular for vacuum cleaners, with a device for adjustment of the suction hose. The apparatus includes a medium-fillable chambers which are circumferentially arranged on the suction hose, a valve by means of connecting the media in the chambers and can be discharged, and a switch or regulator for controlling the valve. The present invention further relates to a method for continuous adjustment of the length of a suction hose for a vacuum cleaner.
